Embedded Systems Integration Technician

THE COMPANY

Created in 2018 and based in Port La Forêt, BSB Marine is a joint venture between BSB Artificial Intelligence, an Austrian company specialied in artificial intelligence in the automotive sector, and Mer & Projets, a Finistère-based company specialised in ocean racing and the maritime sector. BSB Marine, small start-up company, develops, installs and sells OSCAR, the first navigational aid system based on artificial vision.

CHARACTERISTICS

Location: Position based in Port La Forêt (29940)
Type of contract: 6-month fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension on permanent contract
Working time: Full-time 35H/week
Position to be filled immediately
Field of intervention: Offshore racing, Large size Yacht, Fishing vessels, Professional vessels
Intervention area: International
Travel to be planned: Product installations, trade shows, offshore racing departures....
Sailing to be planned on all types of vessels - sail and motor
Salary: to be defined according to profile and motivations

JOB DESCRIPTION

Within a four people team and in close collaboration with our PhD engineer, your main missions will be:

  • Participate in the development and validation of new OSCAR systems

  • Ensure the preparation, installation and commissioning of on-board OSCAR equipment, including intervention at the masthead

  • Ensure the electronic and computer maintenance of the systems

  • Provide assistance, advice and follow-up to clients

  • Participate in sea validation trials

  • Participate in the drafting of technical documentation (specifications, installer/user guides, etc.)

You will be in contact with our teams of young developers of various nationalities (12 people) who are based in Vienna, Linz and Lisbon. All passionate and involved in the development of OSCAR.

SKILLS REQUIRED & IDEAL PROFILE

Educational background and/or experience in marine electronics

  • Electronic/network cabling

  • Navigational unit and other electronic navigation devices

  • CANbus/NMEA2000

Computer skills

  • Ethernet/CANbus networking

  • Linux environment

  • Navigation software

Sailing and/or navigation practice

Taste for solving and tracking technical problems

Fluency in fluent and technical English

good customer relations skills

Ability to listen and analyze

Autonomous, rigorous, organized and involved

Happy to share his knowledge, experiences and ideas with his team

Driver's license required and boat license required
